Metals Manufacturing Facility

PROBLEM

A metal product manufacturing facility located under a roadway overcrossing was experiencing a problem with zinc and total suspended solids (TSS) blowing from the overhead roadway and settling on their roof.  They also had a high volume of both forklift and truck traffic on their site. Plus, they store scrap metal in roll off boxes on another area of the property. All these sources of heavy metals, fine particulate and oily sheen proved too much for their stormwater vault filtration system.

SOLUTION

The owners chose to deploy several CleanWay@ stormwater filtration devices around their facility to help them meet their benchmark. CleanWay
installed weighted Absorption booms at the roll off box area, downspout filtration systems at critical roof drain areas and catch basin filtration inserts
throughout the site to ensure proper runoff treatment.
